What do I do… well a bit of just about everything tech related. My bread & butter (and beer) these days primarily comes from working in Information Tech. I also do some writing and web projects on the side when I can find the time.
I’m involved with various groups in the area, currently as a co-founder and director at Kwartzlab, KW’s very own hackerspace, located on the edge of downtown Kitchener (we’re open to the public every Tuesday from 7pm to 10pm, drop on by!). I’m also a trustee with the KW Awesome Foundation, where on pitch night we give away $1000 every two months to a worthy project or cause. I’m one of many organizers involved with Headshots from the Heart, a yearly 24-hour game-a-thon that raises money for Child’s Play, a charity that provides video games to children’s hospitals worldwide. I’m also a primary organizer of the Waterloo Mini Maker Faire, an epic DIY show (and-tell) that became Kwartzlab’s most successful event to date.
Between this stuff I spend a lot of time on patios with friends and family, which is only charitable if I’m buying all the rounds (that’ll be the day!)
